Amidst the snow drifts, frigid temperatures and recent lockdown restrictions we have been closely monitoring Omicron. While this variant is tenacious, it has also shown itself to deliver lighter symptoms to the fully vaccinated and now appears to be peaking, signaling the beginning of its demise around the world. On that basis Culture Viewfinder is taking a cautious, yet optimistic view that our September dates still hold as realistic, and are presently proceeding as planned.
For safe measure, the initial deposit date has been shifted from January to mid-February. Interim deposits will be maintained on April 15, with the final balance due July 15, 2022.
The key news is that there has been an excellent uptake for both the Creative Spirit and post-tour Wine Architecture + Gastronomy option.
The size of the wine trip is smaller by necessity, as we are limited to a 10-meter bus in order to navigate the back roads of the Douro Valley where several of the finest wineries are located. Initially we believed that 10 spots + 2 for tour leaders (six rooms) would suffice. The original block of rooms are now SOLD OUT. After some negotiations, we are pleased to announce that we have successfully secured all eight rooms at the award-winning wine-experience hotel selected for our final night. The ability to expand the size of the wine trip for up to four additional people, hinged on these additional rooms. Bookings for these additional spaces and rooms are now available on a first come, first served basis. No exceptions.

Arriving in Lisbon Early
For your convenience, a limited number of hotel rooms have been set aside on September 7 at a special discounted rate for those who wish to arrive a day early to experience more of Lisbon and/or acclimatize to the time change. September is a very popular month in Portugal.
